Back in the U.S.A, for clients who want to forego the traditional hotel stay in favor of an ultra-exclusive setting, suggest one of Villazzo VillaHotels’ (www.villazzo.com) two Aspen abodes – VillaHotel Bear’s Creek or VillaHotel La Niche. Villazzo’s aptly named VillaHotels afford the privacy and exclusivity of a villa, but offer the same amenities and services – think chauffeurs, butlers and beauticians – of a luxury hotel, including a hotel manager.
Which to book? Each is ideal for a family or group – VillaHotel La Niche has five bedrooms, VillaHotel Bear’s Creek, four – though insiders say La Niche draws most large groups for its exceptional use of space. When it comes to views of the great outdoors, those of Aspen Mountain from VillaHotel Bear’s Creek can’t be beat.
Reservations via GDS aren’t yet available; travel advisors should contact Miami-based Sales Manager Tatyana Lee (firstname.lastname@example.org; 305-777-0146, ext. 10). Ask Lee to assist with private airport transfers, which are included in Villazzo’s rates – Aspen Private Airport and Sardy Field Airport are each five minutes away, and both welcome traffic from private jets and helicopters.
Each VillaHotel employs the services of a concierge staff who takes care of everything from booking in-room Spa Remede treatments (we hear Oxygen Facial is blissful) to arranging in-house dining prepared by private chefs (guests and chefs collaborate to devise a personalized menu). Spa treatments and dining arrangements should be requested 24 to 48 hours in advance, though same-day requests are not unheard of (room service is available 24/7; the menu is slightly more limited at night). Want to book a private jet or car for a whirlwind day trip, or a personal shopper/stylist for a day? Just ask. Additionally, butler service is readily available – an advisable option to relieve clients of the hassle of handling, transporting and storing cumbersome ski equipment. Butlers even rent ski gear and deliver it to guests’ front door upon request.
Private transportation to the area’s shops and slopes – Aspen Mountain (“Ajax”), Buttermilk, Aspen Highlands and Snowmass – is provided for Villazzo guests. Ask the concierge to assist with arrangements.
Note: Aspen is host to a bevy of cultural events (the Food & Wine Classic, HBO Comedy Festival, Aspen Filmfest, Ruggerfest and Jazz Aspen Snowmass), during which reservations can be tough to score (other high-traffic times include Christmas week and Fourth of July weekend). Contact Lee or Managing Director Deborah Prince (970-544-8424) to check available ability for these periods, which can require reservations a year in advance.
